Welcome to Varina Episcopal Church

Rev. Michael Cadaret, Priest-in-Charge

Under the Kingship of Jesus Christ, the mission of the people of Varina Church is to serve as ministers of the Gospel as we strive to be an example of Christian life in our community.

Thank you for visiting Varina Episcopal Church Online. I hope you will join us for worship soon if you are in the Richmond area.

We are one of nearly 200 congregations of the Episcopal Diocese of Virginia. Together with the rest of the Diocese, we work to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ through worship, prayer, education, and Christian care for one another.

The Episcopal Church is part of the The Anglican Communion, a body of 80 million Christians worldwide in communion with the Archbishop of Canterbury in the United Kingdom.  It was Anglican Christians who first brought the good news of Jesus to Virginia and in what is today Varina baptized the Native American Pocahontas, whose Christian name was Rebecca.   For over 80 years, Varina Episcopal Church has been an outpost for ministry in Eastern Henrico County.

We hope to meet people wherever they are on their faith journey and help them to move closer to Jesus Christ.   In the words of our Great Litany we ask God to "strengthen such as do stand; to comfort and help the weak-hearted; to raise up those who fall…" all through the power of the Holy Spirit.
